42/82 Buscalan, Kalinga Province

Isn't Wang-Od pretty? She gives this loving aura vibe that you want to hug her the moment you see her.  People flock to Buscalan to witness the oldest mambabatok from the Butbut tribe. Unfortunately, our group didn't get a chance to be inked by her due to a long waiting list. Still, we are grateful to have experienced the traditional tattoo by Wang-Od's nieces. As the Butbut tribe sits at the top of a cliff, the trek is not to be taken lightly... with the rough incline plus the scourging heat makes the 1.5 to 2  hours trek challenging. Beside the community lies a beautiful rice terraces landscape. Bring your coffee and watch the sun rise. 🚌 Getting there: We availed a group tour package that includes transportation, guide fee, overnight accommodation, meals (dinner and breakfast), side trip in Banaue going there and a stop over at Baguio going home. Takeaways: ✅️ Visit during weekdays for less tourists and a higher chance to get tattooed by Wang-Od. ✅️ Can brin

Birthday Celebration Gone Wrong in Taiwan! Covid-19

Image
This is supposedly the most anticipated birthday celebrations of hubby and I being that it is our first time to travel together outside the country AND on our birthday. I was truly hoping it would be memorable... .... and yes, it was certainly memorable! My birthday is February 10 and hubby's February 12. Our flights were booked during Cebu Pacific's Piso fare, if I remember correctly, July the previous year when everyone was just having a normal and peaceful life.  No coronavirus outbreak yet... DAYS LEADING TO OUR DEPARTURE I was really busy at work that I wasn't paying much attention to what's going on with the world... I knew about Coronavirus hit in Wuhan and the lockdown against China by the neighboring countries, including the Philippines... I heard about the quarantine, etc... It hasn't revealed the gravity of the situation yet and that is why people still continued with their travel plans.  Three days before our flight, my friend (who is with us

41/81 Puerto Galera Just spent my 41st province on a weekend in Puerto Galera!!!  Finally, this place is like that song "so near, yet so far".. You know what I mean?! 😋😂  I have known Puerto Galera as a favorite place of our gay friends and frequently visited by Koreans. So when I first started travelling, I thought well.. Let us just leave this place to them...  But since I completing my #81ProvincesPH, I am compelled to visit. 😜 Puerto Galera is in Mindoro Oriental.  Then after being here I realized, yeah, this place is worth visiting! We didn't snorkel, island hop nor toured around. But the highlight of our trip is the walk to White beach from Talipanan beach while picking up some stones and pause for a quick swim. The most fun is passing through boulders rock along the way! 1️⃣ST DAY: Arrived in Batangas port around 11:30 AM. Parked our car inside the port and then went to buy tickets.  ðŸ’ĩ Ferry expenses:  M

My 40th of the 81 PH Provinces  ðŸ‡ĩ🇭 My supposed first solo 💃  travel at tempt turned out to be double  ðŸ‘Ŋ‍♀️  (ehem  Arfem ). Glad to have a companion in the end. If it was just me, imagine me low key panicking after finding out that my Cebupac terminal was in 4 while looking stupid in line outside the terminal 3 departure gate 30 min before the boarding time (Basa basa din kase ng itinerary/boarding pass..tsk tsk tsk). Then trying to get a taxi but driver wanted to milk money. Then p lane returning back to Manila bec it couldnt land in Masbate due to thunderstorm.. And then being stuck in the airport for 5 hours, waiting for another flight! How fun would that be if it was just me! Haha!  ðŸĪŠ

39/81 Catanduanes

Catanduanes, why have I known you just now? 😆 The only reason I booked this flight to Virac, the province's capital, is because there were no other options during that piso promo night. And since I am completing the 81 PH provinces, then heck might as well go!  Surprisingly, Catanduanes (known to be the happy island and previously the land howling wind), became one of the best provinces we've been into so far! This underrated island has a lot to boot! Get to see other photos here in FB page:  Facebook: Elle's Tinker Toes MY 39TH OF THE 81 PROVINCES OF THE PHILIPPINES Travel date: November 15-17, 2019 (fri-sun) Via Cebupacific Air - Manila airport terminal 3 to Virac airport Manila - Virac: Departure 6:30AM; Arrival 7:40AM Virac - Manila: Departure 8:15AM; Arrival 9:25AM ✔️ Planning: Since we only had 2 full days in Catanduanes, with kids in tow, we decided to visit Virac and its nearby towns.
